Davite Giancarlo secured his third Rwandan national title by taking victory in the final round of the 2011 national rally championship last Sunday.
He had raced with a dedicated effort and the achievement in the national championship event in 1000 Rallye des Collines, an event staged in Kigali on 10 and 11 December.

At the wheel of the Subaru Impreza N11, and with a group N dogkit provided by KAPS Transmissions, the Italian pharmaceutical entrepreneur was able to position himself at the top of the leaderboard and achieved 1st place of the last race of the national competion. A puncture on the last special stage, one of sixteen miles, which has reduced the final gap between Davite and the other drivers, did not phase Davite and a courageous choice saw him take the last five kilometers of the race with the handicap of the flat tire.

"I have considered the idea of stopping to change it - said Davite arrival - a choice that I would be penalized in terms of  time. It was a risk, However, it went well and now I''m here to celebrate This third title, after the successes of 2008 and 2009".

Five wins out of five races in the series at home.  A formalized and fully deserved the title after one hundred and fifty kilometers of the 1000 Rally Special Collines in Kigali, seconded went to Sylvia Vindevogel.

Yet another dedication to the international level, the team Happy Racer, radiant as reflected in the words of his patron Agostino Alberghino: "It''s a great satisfaction, that repays the misfortune of Giancarlo at the beginning of the season. A satisfying result for both Giancarlo for Happy Racer, which had the merit of enhancing competitiveness and stubbornness. Also special mention goes to Christiakis Fitidis who claimed 2nd position in the Rwandan championship, making it a 1-2 for KAPS Transmissions on the final podium. Congratulations to both drivers.
