The first round of the African Rally Championship kicked off in Tanzania the past weekend. Fiditis Christakis is competing the full 2010 season in his Subaru, and is racing with KAPS Transmissions.

With road conditions tough and the weather extremely hot, driving was always going to be uncomfortable.

The win eventually went to James Whyte and co driver Phil Archenoul, with Fiditis Christakis and Guy Dekelver crossing the line in 3rd place. A teriffic result for the team amoungst strong competition.

With the first two cars virtually wrapping up the race on day one, it was the all important final podium position where the race was at. Christakis and Dekelver went into Sundays first stage with a narrow advantage over 4th placed team Jas Mangat and Moses Matovu, but a determined drive on the first stage saw the lead increase to 25 seconds which was maintained for the remaining stages.
