Following the Rally of Kenya, the KCB Pearl of Africa Uganda rally was next on the race schedule for the competitors in the African Rally Championship.
Christiakis Fitidis driving with KAPS Transmissions gives his thoughts on the race:
„The race was very rough and extremely slippery after the rain“
„After the super stage on friday 30 March we started to push on Saturday but after 2 stages we had a shock absorber and rear axel problem and we dropped to be in 11th place by mid day.
After service was complete, and the car back in good condition, we pushed like hell to finish in 4th place on Saturday night. On Sunday we decided to increase our speed to try to get the third place and also to create a bigger buffer from Mutebi who was pushing hard from behind also. Finaly we finished third overall and second for the African Championship.„
The next event is the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally from 4 to 6 June and will be crucial for the Championship between Jamie Whyte, Giancarlo Davite and Christiakis Fitidis.
